The judges were impressed with this pavilion-style house that was mostly hand built from raw materials. The house design was unique to meet the requirements of the island site and the choice of natural materials, particularly the recycled timber and attention-to-detail has produced a warm and liveable ambience.
The environmentally sustainable features, including its orientation, uses of clear and opaque glass as well as louvres, gives it ventilation and abundance of natural light.
Water harvesting and treatment provides off-the-grid sewer irrigation, and grey and potable water.
